Lister — Privacy Policy
How the Lister desktop app and its eBay sign-in page handle data.
Lister is a desktop application from LittleLordGames that helps a seller build eBay listings from a folder of photos. It runs on your own computer. This policy explains what it does with your data, and what the eBay sign-in page hosted on littlelordgames.com does.
The short version
- Your photos and listing details are processed locally, on your machine.
- The only service they are sent to is eBay, and only to create or update your own listings.
- Your eBay credentials and sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on your computer, using your operating system's secure store. They are never sent to littlelordgames.com.
- The sign-in page on this site is a static page. It does not collect, store, log, or transmit your authorization code — there is no server behind it to receive one.
- Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.
What Lister processes on your computer
Lister reads the folder of images you point it at and the listing details you type in — titles, descriptions, prices, quantities, and part names. Images are resized and prepared locally, in a working folder on your own machine. All of this stays on your computer unless and until you choose to publish a listing.
What is sent to eBay
When you publish, Lister sends the following to eBay on your behalf:
- Your prepared images, uploaded to eBay's own picture hosting so the listing can reference them. Images are not hosted by LittleLordGames or by anyone else.
- Your listing details — title, description, prices, quantities, and variations — submitted to eBay's selling APIs under your own eBay account.
Once data reaches eBay it is governed by eBay's own terms, including its User Privacy Notice.
Your eBay credentials and tokens
To use Lister you supply your own eBay developer credentials and sign in to your eBay account. Your application credentials, your redirect name (RuName), and the OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by eBay are stored only on your own computer, encrypted through your operating system's secure store — Keychain on macOS, DPAPI on Windows, or libsecret on Linux.
If your operating system cannot provide that encryption, Lister keeps these values in memory for that session only and tells you so, rather than writing them to disk unprotected.
These credentials and tokens are never transmitted to littlelordgames.com, to LittleLordGames, or to any third party. They go only to eBay, as part of signing in and making requests on your behalf.
The eBay sign-in page on this site
eBay requires the page it returns you to after sign-in to be served over HTTPS, which a desktop application cannot provide by itself. So littlelordgames.com hosts a single static page that acts as the bridge back to the app running on your computer.
That page:

reads the short-lived authorization code that eBay puts in the address bar,
and forwards your browser to the copy of Lister listening on your own machine
(
127.0.0.1) so it can complete sign-in; - shows you the same code with a copy button, in case you need to paste it into the app by hand;
- removes the code from the address bar and from your browser history once it has done so.
It is a single self-contained HTML file. It loads no scripts, fonts, styles, images, or analytics from anywhere, sets no cookies, and makes no requests of its own. Your authorization code is never sent to a LittleLordGames server — the page is static, so there is no server-side component that could receive, log, or store it. The code is exchanged for tokens by the app on your computer, talking directly to eBay.
Analytics and cookies
The Lister application contains no analytics or telemetry, and does not report your usage anywhere. The eBay sign-in page loads no analytics and sets no cookies.
This page you are reading now is part of the littlelordgames.com website, which counts page views using a cookieless analytics service. That is described in the website privacy policy.
Third parties
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared. Apart from eBay — the service you are deliberately listing on — no third party receives your images, listing details, credentials, or tokens.
Deleting your data
Because everything lives on your own computer, you remove it by signing out in Lister (which discards the stored tokens), deleting the app's data folder, or uninstalling the app. You can also revoke Lister's access at any time from your eBay account settings.
